The Opportunity:

Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Conducting introductory and advanced courses in the areas of basic design and computational concepts, fundamentals of computer science and software architecture, and technical and creative implementation of computer games, combining theoretical content with artistic and technological practice
- Planning and implementing interdisciplinary research and development projects
- Grading student work and supervising seminars, projects, bachelor/master theses, ensuring high academic and didactic standards
- Establishing industry collaborations and partnerships
- Participating in university administration and committee work, actively supporting the success of UE
- Advising prospective students and contributing to UE’s outreach activities
- Contributing to the conceptual design of new study programmes and the continuous development of existing curricula
- Actively shaping the Game Design programme, including strategic, organizational, and academic development, and willingness to take on organizational responsibilities such as programme coordinator or programme leader
- Collaborating across disciplines with related study programmes at UE
Requirements for the Professorship:
- University studies completed with a Master’s degree or equivalent in Game Design, Game Development, Interactive Media, Design, or Computer Science, or a related field
- At least three years of qualified professional experience, with two years outside a university, in the field of the professorship or in a related domain
- Proof of one of the following:
- Exceptional artistic achievements during at least two years of successful professional activity relevant to the field of the professorship (if applicable, demonstrated by an external evaluation of exceptional aptitude for artistic work (Gutachten zur besonderen Befähigung zur künstlerischen Arbeit))
- OR exceptional aptitude for scientific work, usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate and/or the quality of scientific publications
